Susane Quigley

Special Events Coordinator

Hi, my name is Susane and I am the proud mom of two wonderful teenagers.  My 20 year old daughter is dyslexic and is a 504 student in her final year of college.  My 16 year old son (who also has dyslexia) has Asperger's syndrome and dyspraxia.  I have been a Teacher's Assistant (Paraprofessional) in Exceptional Student Education at Maplewood Elementary for the past 4 years working with children with Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  I have AMAP (Administrative Medical Assistive Personnel) Certification from the State of New York where I worked for 20 years with the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC).  I thoroughly enjoy working with and learning from children with special needs and their siblings and feel that my personal experiences give me that "little bit extra" to bring to the classroom every day as well as to others, including siblings, who live each day in a special needs family.
