Area Transition Team (MATT)
MATT MISSION STATEMENT
MATT (Marion
Area Transition Team) is a council committed to coordinating services
to facilitate smooth transition for individuals with disabilities
into adult lives that are productive in the educational, recreational,
residential, social and vocational realms.
PROJECT
CONNECT
In April of 2000 the
Marion County School System and Central Florida Community College
applied for a grant (Project Connect) to the Bureau of Instruction
Support and Community Services of the Florida Department of Education,
the Transition Center at the University of Florida, and the Florida
Developmental Disabilities Council, Inc.. They were chosen
as one of the sites to become a model for the State of Florida.
Replication of their best practices may be utilized for the future
statewide training.
