Parent
Advisory Committee (PAC)
"Parents
+ Educators = An Exceptional Team!"
The Marion County Public School's
Exceptional Student Education Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)
is a collaboration parents, staff and administrators. The
goal of PAC is to "share and disseminate information, plan
for upcoming training, and evaluate ESE programs for children with
disabilities and gifted children throughout the county".
The meetings are held quarterly
to discuss the future of our children with special needs and ways
that improvements can be made to the system. It is a positive
forum where information is shared, suggestions are invited and attempts
are made to find answers to the concerns of those closest to the
children--the parents.
Parents are being given an opportunity
to learn how the educational process works, how programs are funded,
how supports and services are put in place, how the laws work with
regards to special education and much more. It it the perfect
opportunity to become actively involved and help to make a positive
impact on the education of all the special needs children in Marion
county.
PAC needs your help to continue
raising the standard of education and the level of performance in
special education. Join PAC and learn first hand about the
accomplishments made by Marion County so far. Become a part
of an "exceptional team" -- parents and educators working
together to set goals, make plans for the future, and do their best
to carry them out.
