Housing

PHPF
is constantly seeking ways to bring much needed information and
resources to the special needs community. At the end of 2006
we announced a new initiative to provide housing
opportunities for special needs families and adults. This housing
program was to
include rental properties and/or homeownership on a case-by-case
basis.
In
an effort to avoid recreating the wheel, we began to research
organizations with successful housing programs. In doing so we
decided to bring you information about
national programs already in existence. We will continue our
efforts to create a local housing and development program.

The
mission of the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and
Technology (FAAST) is to improve the quality of life for all
Floridians with disabilities. They do this through advocacy
and awareness activities that increase access to, and acquisition of
assistive services and technology. FAAST believes that a home
that fits your needs is the ultimate piece of assistive technology,
and they can help you locate affordable housing in your area.
