Charlotte is from, and lives in Brooksville, Florida.  She has been married for 17 years to Earl Hannaway, a retired Deputy Sheriff.  Charlotte and Earl's 10 year old son, Andy, was diagnosed with PDD-NOS when he was 4 ½ years old.  Later at the age of 6, Andy was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.

Charlotte has been a strong advocate for Andy and instrumental in ensuring that he was provided with special education and related services in the public schools.  She also ensured that Andy received the necessary early intervention therapies and continues to ensure that Andy receives speech/language therapy, sensory integration therapy and most recently, hemispheric integration therapy.

Andy is full inclusion, an honor roll student, doing grade level work and is very happy and socially successful at his school.  He participates in after school sports programs and recently began piano lessons.

Charlotte works at a high school as an ESE Paraprofessional.  Charlotte helped organize and participated in the Hernando County Autism Walk in 2008 and 2009, and helped organize a Poker Run for Autism in November 2009.  She has been an active member of C.A.U.S.E. since 2009.
