Charlotte Hannaway

PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Charlotte is from, and lives in
Brooksville, Florida. She has been married for 17 years to
Earl Hannaway, a retired Deputy Sheriff. Charlotte and Earl's
10 year old son, Andy, was diagnosed with PDD-NOS when he was 4 ½
years old. Later at the age of 6, Andy was diagnosed with
Asperger's Syndrome.
Charlotte has been a strong advocate for
Andy and instrumental in ensuring that he was provided with special
education and related services in the public schools. She also
ensured that Andy received the necessary early intervention
therapies and continues to ensure that Andy receives speech/language
therapy, sensory integration therapy and most recently, hemispheric
integration therapy.
Andy is full inclusion, an honor roll
student, doing grade level work and is very happy and socially
successful at his school. He participates in after school
sports programs and recently began piano lessons.
Charlotte works at a high school as an ESE
Paraprofessional. Charlotte helped organize and participated
in the Hernando County Autism Walk in 2008 and 2009, and helped
organize a Poker Run for Autism in November 2009. She has been
an active member of C.A.U.S.E. since 2009.
