Hi, my name is Penny and I've lived in Florida since 1997.  As a parent I try my best to be involved as a volunteer and active PTO member and am currently working as a teacher's aide.  Although I don't currently have a child with a disability in the school system, I have witnessed first hand the difficulties faced by our special needs children.  My daughter, when in public school, had to learn how to manage dyslexia -- through private tutoring -- at a time when it was not recognized as a disability.  I have been interested in full inclusion since working with children of diverse abilities at Maplewood Elementary and have become involved with projects geared toward that end.
