For Sibs Only

The Story of Brianna Robbins

by Jaclyn Robbins

I have a sister named Brianna.  She's my younger sister.  She is 8 years old, and diagnosed with autism.  Autism means that she can't talk.  Some kids with autism can talk, but Brianna can't.  The best thing I like about my sister is she can make sounds, play in the water, and listens to directions.  What I don't like about her is she's really loud when she screams and has fits at school.  She is a really fun sister, even though she is an ESE kid.  She's my #1 sister and I love her a lot.

Jaclyn Robbins is an A-B honor roll student who recently graduated from Maplewood Elementary School.  Her younger sister Brianna still attends Maplewood.  At the time she submitted this article she was in 4th grade and her sister Brianna was in ESE 2nd grade.   Both girls were born in California and moved to Ocala a few years ago with their mom and dad.

Have your children submit articles to us about their experiences as a brother or sister of a child with a special need.  Submit articles to PHPF.
