The
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is civil rights legislation
that prohibits discrimination of people with mental or physical
disabilities. The goal of the ADA is to remove barriers that
deny individuals with disabilities an equal opportunity to share
in activities of community life. The law ensures participation
and access to the kind of opportunities that persons without disabilities
enjoy.
